About Me

Welcome to Cheryl Nifong Music.

What can I tell you about me. First, I love coffee. It’s like breathing, you can’t go very long without it.  I start every day in my comfy chair with the cat on my lap with a cup of coffee in one hand, my bible  in the other. Breathing in the sweet aroma of coffee and the still small voice of the God of the Universe talking to me. He wants to talk with you, too. And He loves you beyond what you can comprehend.

About four years ago, we came to this amazing church. My husband and I had been in ministry for years, him as a pastor and me a worship leader. We experienced some of the worse hurts possible inside the walls of a church. Life became one of survival and the joy and freedom talked about in the bible felt to me like a myth. I thought there has got to be more.

That sunday four years ago changed my life forever. I would feel the presence of God that day like I never felt. And it was in this place I found freedom, healing and hope. God took my brokenness and made something beautiful. One of our pastors defines freedom as not the absence of something but the presence of Someone (God). By allowing the spirit of God to literally breathe life into us and through us, He will mend our broken places and restore us. He will take our mourning and turn it to dancing.

One of the things I learned through this journey toward freedom is that God wants to talk to me and you. I’m not talking about reading scripture and getting a word through scripture, I mean like Moses in the tent where he was face to face with God. Just like friends. Talking.

God cares about every detail of your life and wants to know you. To give you life, to set you free to be all He created you to be. In this process, I began dreaming again.

I began singing again and writing again.

Zephaniah 3:17 says the Lord rejoices over us with singing.

He sings to me. (Sometimes at all hours of the night). I can’t even describe it. That’s why I created this page. To share the words God has placed on my heart. They weren’t just for me, they are for you too.

I hope it will draw you into the very presence of God.
